Mexican Hybrid Palm

Washingtonia robusta hybrid

At EStrella Canyon, many of our Washingtonia palms are Robusta hybrids. These are grown from parent trees that were chosen for their frost resistance as compared with other Robusta hybrids, from a grove in the San Pasqual Valley of California. These hybrids also have shorter pettioles and more heads than many Mexican Fan Palms. All of our Robusta hybrid palms are subject to mid-teen temperatures prior to field planting.
