'Drake' Chinese Elm

Ulmus parvifolia 'Drake'

A fast-growing, nearly evergreen tree. This selection of Chinese Elm has smaller leaves and a more weeping, rounded habit. It usually grows to a height of 35 feet, with a similar spread. Leaves measure 2-3 inches long and are toothed on the margins. Bark takes on mottled patterns of grey, green, orange and brown with age. This selection has shown more resistance to disease and insects than others.
